Agents die without any message, ways to troubleshoot?

Is there a way to troubleshoot the agent apart from "DebugLevel=4"? The agent silently dies without printing a thing and i'm fresh out of ideas.

Debian Wheezy, latest version available on backports (2.2.5+dfsg-1~bpo70+1), same versions on client and server.
