    Adding a template to a host does not add items

    I did the install following these instructions to a T other than the some of the apache steps that are specific to ubuntu 12.04(im using 14.04 and zabbix 2.2.2). The first host I added was the zabbix server using the zabbix server template and linux os template which worked fine. Than when adding my next host the host would not inherit the items inside the linux os template so I did a full clone, changed the info, and removed the host from the zabbix server tempate and it worked (sort of) I than cloned that host for two other hosts. But I still cannot add a new host from scratch and be able to use the template to populate the items but I can add items manually. Is this a permissions issues somewhere? user error? How would I go about troubleshooting? The reason I said worked(sort of) before is that hosts 2-4 reporting the host name of "zabbix" which is the hostname of the initial host that was cloned. The zabbix server is a passive check and hosts 2,3,4 are active checks. The default hostname item is set for passive check so I tried changing it across the template to and active check and one of them started to report the correct hostname, maybe this is a different issue but I figured it was worth mentioning.

      can you please use "ENTER" in you next post? its easier to read..

      to add an Host+Template..

      Configuration->Hosts
      Create Host (upper right side)

      give it a name and an IP-address
      in the same window click on Templates, type "Linux", use "Template OS Linux", click on "add" and "Save" .. wait a minute.. and now you have create an host with template and Items..

      if no items in the host, please check you Template (Configuration->Templates) if there are any items available
      Debian-User

      Sorry for my bad english
