Migration to another server - proxies lost

    Hello.

I found some topics regarding this problem on the forums, but none of those solutions helped.

I am trying to migrate Zabbix 2.0 to another hot running 2.0 as well. The database was transfered with no problems, but now the new server cannot connect to the proxies. I have check that this is not a network problem, the problem lies elsewhere.

In the proxy logs, there are messages like:

    Heartbeat message failed
Cannot obtain configuration data from server. Proxy host name might not be matching that on the server.

I have checked that the proxy name is ok, those names were not changed during the migration.

    Server logs say:

Autoregistration data from active proxy on [xx.xx.xx.xx] failed: proxy [yy.yy.yy] not found

How could I fix this problem? This is a presing matter since we are running out of disk space on the old server.

Seems like you are using active proxy set up. If yes proxy is asking for his own batch of cfg data and presenting themselves as "I'm proxy XXX" is not recognized in server set up.
Just check Administration->Proxies do you have registered proxy with exact name.

      Hi.

That is the weird part since to proxy name is correct.

What do you see in server logs about sending cfg to proxy?

This is what repeats over and over:

13701:20150703:123526.599 History data from active proxy on [x.x.x.x] failed: proxy [y.y.y.y] not found
13703:20150703:123526.601 Autoregistration data from active proxy on [x.x.x.x] failed: proxy [y.y.y.y] not found

I can ping the proxy, and the proxy can ping the server. Also, ports 10050-10051 are open.

            No, no .. server logs
You should see in server logs notifications indicating that server is sending configuration to the proxy.
Try to "grep 'sending configuration data to proxy' zabbix_server.log" of try to search in this logs that server does not recognize exact proxy.

There are no log entries in the server logs on sending configuration data. In addition to the above repeating entry, there is only this:

13700:20150703:123412.547 Heartbeat from active proxy on [x.x.x.x] failed: proxy [y.y.y] not found

So not much useful info there..

                Just some questions:
                1. Did you change the servers hostname?
                2. If so, did you change that in the Proxy config also?
                3. Can you telnet both ways also?

                  Hello.

We use the ip-address (no dns name) for the Zabbix-server and I did change that in the proxy configuration.

However, telnet is not working as it should so this likely a network problem even though I though I ruled it out after going through our firewall policies. Have to double check this.
