    Icmp

    Hi,

    I need help.

I have 50 antennas and I monitoring them with ICMP. Sometimes, what is normal on wireless, I have lost ping on link. Zabbix every time send me notification on mail. That can be strenuous, when after night I receive 20 message, 10 for one problem ping, then 10 for OK. This happend about few time on week.

My question is, how I can say ICMP template, or I can create new template, that after zabbix send ICMP eg. 5 times in 2min ping, and if all 5 ping is lost, then send me a mail. If firts 4 ping is lost, and 5. and next good, then do not send mail.

    Thx

    Bg,

    Bg,
Sounds like a smarter trigger setting would help, could you post your current trigger settings?

In your situation I would suggest using 1 item, with 2 triggers.

The item you have, pinging your antennas by ICMP would be a good starter. Keep that.

Then create two triggers on that item, but each with different severities. The trigger you already have can be set to severity Warning. Then create a new Trigger with severity Average. And configure that trigger for checking 5 times (#5).

Finally, configure your Trigger Action (which is responsible for alerting a user by sending an e-mail) with a Condition to only execute the action when the Trigger Severity is Average (or higher).
