zabbix not working in ubuntu 14.04

I have installed zabbix 2.4.5 server in my ubuntu 14.04 system. The server system contain zabbix agent too. Now am trying to monitor another system in the same local network. But am not able to get any data. My local network is
restricted by proxy settings, is it affect zabbix ? , In host availability am getting
this error message "Get value from agent failed:cannot connect to [[host ip]:10050]:[111] connection refused"

The first things I check when I can't communicate from an agent to the server:

• Is SElinux enabled?
• Is iptables on?
• Can you use netcat to contact the zabbix server from the box you are adding? "nc -vz [ip address of zabbix server] 10051
• Same test other way "nc -vz [ip address of monitored machine] 10050

Checking these should help you determine whether your proxy server is interfering with the communications.

Thanks Dave for your reply, I had checked all the things you suggested,

Still In host availability am getting

My system having following servers,

apache2 server listening on port :8079
nginx server on port : 80

is it affect its working ?

Please, check the configuration of agent.
