Hi,

a host always get this aforementioned error message every 5 minutes. Other hosts with the same agent and firewall configuration don't have this problem. What might be the cause?

Problem solved. I changed the timeout value to 30.

So seems you have another problem and you should start asking yourself "why my backend monitoring scripts are running so long?"

Hey guys,
which file did you modify to increase the time out? Is it on the zabbix server/java server/nodes itself?. I am facing this error while using JMX with zabbix

It was the Zabbix serverfile on the Zabbix server.

So, changing the timeout value didn't help for me. But the root cause for the issue that we had is a wrong ip address entry in the /etc/hosts file of the servers being monitored.
