Zabbix deadlock?

Dear Zabbix forums,

We are having a problem with our Zabbix server. At apparently random intervals the Zabbix server stops processing new data. During this period the DB is not occupied with other activities, the Zabbix agents are still reachable, there are no Zabbix internal processes busy and CPU is not extremely busy. The problem is only resolved with an restart of the Zabbix server.

I think this is the result of a deadlock of sort, Except I can't find post of anyone else experiencing the same problem. Do you have any advice for debugging the problem? Or are you experiencing the same problem?

With postgresql you can get it to log deadlocks, and you can also see in-progress transactions. I'm not sure about mysql. Also, you could look in zabbix's log.
