Hi,
I would like to share my experience with SNMP Agent.
I am monitoring a test network and there is a problem. When I detach a cable which links a switch to another one, I lose connection to it.
This is right, and I lose SNMP data: the green box "SNMP" near host's name is red.
I will wait 30 min: now host is unavailable. Ok, this is fine.
So I put the cable in the switches in order to rebuild the network. Then I test SNMP with snmpwalk in the proxy and it works like a charm.
The problem is in Zabbix now: host will never resolve the problem and will be "freezed" to No SNMP data (I waited 2d+ but nothing happened).
This means that host won't get new data!
I found a fix using the "Execute now" command in a discovery rule (that discovers interfaces of the switch) and after that SNMP button changes color again (green).
I don't know why this problem appears when host becomes unavailable (15-20+ min of interval). If I do this in a 5min interval, I haven't such a problem...
Please excuse my poor/bad English,
I am trying to explain using my words since I didn't find anything useful surfing the Internet or reading the cookbook "Zabbix5". Someone can help me?
Thank you,
