Zabbix server Memory usage grows over time!!!

    Hi everyone,

I have been using Zabbix 2.4.6 for a while to monitor some 200 hosts. I have 2.7k items monitored and 222 new values per sec. I use MySQL database but it's on a separate server. I've been wondering why the server where Zabbix server was installed runs out of disk space in several weeks. I have nothing installed aside from Zabbix-related packages/software/modules. I needed to restart my server to regain some disk space.

    Please help!!!!

I've read the thread but i still can't find the answer I'm looking for. This is really mysterious because there is no physical file that I can delete to free up some of my disk space.

      my du -hs * results:

      0 bin
      156M boot
      0 dev
      23M etc
      268K home
      0 lib
      0 lib64
      0 media
      0 mnt
      0 opt
du: cannot access ‘proc/19779/task/19779/fd/4’: No such file or directory
du: cannot access ‘proc/19779/task/19779/fdinfo/4’: No such file or directory
du: cannot access ‘proc/19779/fd/4’: No such file or directory
du: cannot access ‘proc/19779/fdinfo/4’: No such file or directory
      0 proc
      72M root
      377M run
      0 sbin
      0 srv
      0 sys
      12K tmp
      1.4G usr
      433M var

      My df -h result:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
      /dev/xvda1 8.0G 7.1G 1013M 88% /

BTW, I am using an EC2 instance in amazon in Centos. Please help!!!

run du -h --max-depth=1 on /var and /run to find the large file.

Check in your zabbix_server.conf if LogLevel parameter isn't too excessive and generating several log.

So I tried restarting the server and it went back to the original server size around 2.2Gb disk usage with Zabbix server. Over time, it still goes up and currently in 3.2Gb..
          I ran the command on
          /var 433M
          /run 241M
I'll monitor if usage grows in these folders.

My zabbix_server.conf file already limits the log size at 60Mb.

you may want to check zabbix_trap.tmp under /tmp/, if you have.
