    Availability report and Maintenance issue

    Hi Zabbix Uses

Great product but i think i have found a bug,

The Availability report shows the uptime, when a server or group is put into maintenance mode this uptime is affected unless 'No Data Collection' is chosen.

I believe that if a server is in maintenance mode regardless of data collection it should not reduce the availability report,

I guess im looking for a report where I can say during core business hours we have an uptime of 99.999% but i would still like to collect data and monitor the systems out of business hours.

so far the only solution i can think of is to have a second zabbix system.

    any thoughts appreciated

    Steve

I fear this issue is still open. I thought that uptime reports are the core functionality.
It should be possible to report the uptime inside and outside business hour (service time / must online / may online)

It's not documented anywhere, so I assume that it's still a problem. You have to script it yourself in either case since there's no documentation in any shape or form regarding the matter.

So old thread, that I cannot even remember what was the functionality then... Vague memories of "availability"... that is long gone by now...

SLA caclualtion allows to exclude specific downtimes..

Yes, it would mean repeating the (regular) maintenance schedule here... It would be nice to somwhow see related maintenances "on the fly", but as maintenances can be also removed "on the fly".. then ther has to be some way to preserve and use those downtimes also...

That function is more of a redundant afterthought that an actual solution to the problem, unfortunately.

I'm currently implementing a solution, soon done. Due to the not so good ground design of how zabbix works and store things, I do understand why it haven't been implemented yet. The best workaround given the current codebase would be to extend the API a bit and improve its documentation.
