Zabbix Active Agent works, Passive Fails

Hi all,

I have setup approximately 30 Zabbix agents, but for some reason I am having difficulty setting up a particular one; The monitoring works for all items if the agent is setup to perform active checks. However, the agent will not work if setup for passive checks.

Is there something that could cause this to happen?? I have never encountered this problem before.

When I check the agent logs, there are no errors, while the Zabbix server says that the host was not found.

My zabbix_agent.conf file is configured correctly, as it can monitor some items but not all.

Hi,

Could be some firewall issue.

Try zabbix_get on your Zabbix server and see if it gets some values.

If not, try telnet remote_agent_IP_or_DNS 10050
If telnet fails then check firewall, port forwarding or iptables.

And you will not see any errors in agent log if server for any reason fails to connect to agent. Check server log in that case.
