    SNMP check with long OIDs

    Hi all,

    I'm trying to Monitor some values on a F5 Loadbalancer. Due to their way of converting names to OIDs they become very long.

    I'm having a autodiscovery rule to find all Virtual Severs which creates an item.

    So i receive the following error message:
    Code:
    snmp_parse_oid(): cannot parse OID "F5-BIGIP-LOCAL-MIB::ltmVirtualServStatClientCurConns.25.47.108.118.49.45.98.117.108.45.100.101.47.66.85.76.95.112.104.112.115.101.114.118.101.114]"
    When I'm using snmpget this works fine:
    Code:
    snmpget -c CENSORED -v2c CENSORED F5-BIGIP-LOCAL-MIB::ltmVirtualServStatClientCurConns.25.47.108.118.49.45.98.117.108.45.100.101.47.66.85.76.95.112.104.112.115.101.114.118.101.114
    F5-BIGIP-LOCAL-MIB::ltmVirtualServStatClientCurConns.\"/lv1-bul-de/BUL_phpserver\" = Counter64: 0
    The string has 146 chars so I'm wondering if there is a upper length limit for the OIDS.
    I don't unterstand why the
    Code:
    snmp_parse_oid(): cannot parse OID
    message shows up, as for snmpget the requestes key seems to be perfectly fine.

    Side note:
    As there are quotes in the string discovered by snmpwalk i enabled
    Code:
    escapeQuotes yes
    in the snmp.conf
    This was required to get actualy names that work properly.

    Zabbix Version: 2.4.6

    Side note:
    Why the right (closing) square bracket exists in your first OID? Mistype?
    Code:
    snmp_parse_oid(): cannot parse OID "F5-BIGIP-LOCAL-MIB::ltmVirtualServStatClientCurConns...
    ....114.118.101.114[B][U]][/U][/B]"
    Sincerely yours,
    Aleksey

      Seems like it was a too long day and I actually did not recognize the additional closing bracket. So basically a copy & paste error. Everything works fine now.

        Problem happen because snmp oid has more than 256 characters.

        I dont know how resolver this problem yet.
