    Measuring Light Levels and Setting up Triggers

    So I have light levels coming into Zabbix. They are stored as a -3000 value, I then multiple by .001 to get -3.000 as my value. This value is accurate, but the numbers are stored in -3000 value.

    So I have a trigger that states change(smnp value)>=-2000

    The way this shoudl read, is if the value goes down by 2000 so if the result is -5000 or greater, i wish to be alerted. however, the alert just keeps going off, when there has been little change in the value. I do not wish to get an alert when the value goes back up, so say from -11.223 so -11223 back up to -3000, but just trying to understand why this keeps alerting or if I am doing something wrong.

      {ITEM.VALUE1} is the same as {ITEM.VALUE}. this macro refers to the value of the first item, used in trigger expression. There is {ITEM.LASTVALUE} also, which "when used in the problem name, it will not resolve to the latest item value when viewing problem events, instead it will keep the item value from the time of problem happening."
