    Zabbix Proxy and SNMP

    Hello everyone,

I've 1 Zabbix server on cloud and 2 proxys on my 2 office. In each office I've got switch and firewall.

each switchs are Alcaltel Onmiswith and stormshield for my FW.

I've loaded the template https://github.com/zabbix/community-...elease_6.x/6.0 (i've the same on my old zabbix server v4) and i've configured my user en security on my switch

I can ahve information form my proxy with snmpwalk -v 3 -u xxx-l authPriv -A xxx-a sha -x aes -X xxx XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX but only one switch on each proxy working on my Zabbix Server (every host are configured with proxy).

I've tried different configuration (clone from the working switch, export working switch change parameters and import template host, create from sractch... nothing is working).

On my web interface I've this error :Timeout while connecting to "XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:161". (but I can connect with the command line from the proxy snmpwalk -v 3 -u...)

Does the proxy have limitation to 1 snmp ? i don't think that....

this is the error on my log:

26497:20220307:121815.824 SNMP agent item "SysUptime" on host "SW_COR01_5eme" failed: first network error, wait for 15 seconds
26498:20220307:121834.730 SNMP agent item "SysUptime" on host "SW_COR01_5eme" failed: another network error, wait for 15 seconds
26498:20220307:121853.749 SNMP agent item "SysUptime" on host "SW_COR01_5eme" failed: another network error, wait for 15 seconds
26498:20220307:121912.769 temporarily disabling SNMP agent checks on host "SW_COR01_5eme": interface unavailable

I from the proxy with command line:

Hy LenR, in fact, I'd found the solution, I did my PEBCAK

I configured SNMP V3 protocol with the good proxy in the front and it's working

I tried to delete my post before it was modarated and published but it wasn't possible...

    I think I need holidays!

snmpwalk is more tolerant of timeout, what is your timeout value on the proxy? May need to increase that. Is Zabbix trying to do bulk requests? Does snmpbulkwalk work?

tcpdump the traffic to a failing device, see if requests are sent, if replies are received and how much delay there is for the replies.
