    Notifications don't care about dependencies?

    Hello,

I've setup several trigger dependencies. But they are working only for the visualisation (maps). If a router fails and the dependent hosts are unreachable, only the router is marked "down" in the map. This is fine.
But notifications (email action) "Host Down" go out for the router and all dependent hosts.
Is this by design or can I do anything to prevent zabbix from sending out (email-) notifications for the dependent host triggers?

    Zabbix 2.2.2

    Thanks,

    Ronny

    Hi Ronny,

    Welcome to Zabbix forums!

I would think that if you say your dependencies are displayed fine on the maps then there are no problems with the setup in general.

You have set your {HOSTNAME} Unreachable trigger to alert if the host is down for more than 90 seconds and it depends on the switch being down for 2 pings. I don't know how often you do execute your pings but could it be that the Host unreachable triggers fire before switch ping failed?

If you modify your trigger to wait for more seconds (e.g. 180), do you see the same behavior?

    Best Regards,
    Ingus

yes, that was the problem. The triggers of the hosts fired before the triggers of the switch from which they depend on...

        Thanks,
