How to get more info on what is happening for MAIL trouble shooting

    Hi All,
In one of my test instance , the zabbix is not sending email notification at all .
I followed the following trouble shooting procedures
    • Checked whether the mail can be send from the command line using “mail” command. [ yes I can send]
    • Cross check that the media setting are correct, [yes the parameters are correct]
    • Checked the logs “/var/log/zabbix/zabbix_server.log” , but unfortunately did not see any log entry for mail send. Like to add I increased the log verbosity level to debug and checked, no occurrence of email is shown

Is there any way I could get more information about what is happening to my trigger ?notification and email, is there any other way to make it logged and use it for further trouble shooting.
    Guidance and advice requested
    Thanks
    Joseph John

In the same machine Icinga2 deliverers the notification and Zabbix does not

    Hi,
I was trouble shooting this issue. For the last few days I have been installing zabbix in different machines, trying out trouble shooting, none of the instance notification from zabbix was not even shown in the /var/log/mail

Now I took a fresh PC, installed Icinga2 and Zabbix on the same machine, installed and configured "ssmtp mailx"

I could see notification for icinga2 going through the /var/log/mail.log files but not for Zabbix. I have attached part of the log file for reference
I strongly feel there in some issue with the latest Zabbix release, Have any one else experiencing the same problem
    Thanks
    Joseph John

how looks you mail, and action configuration? Do you set an email-address for you user? If so, please increase the log-level to 4 in zabbix-server and try it again and send the log-file.. and what is in the eventslog?
