    IPMI not workins

    Hello,
    I am unable to use zabbix with ipmi.
    but works fine with command line.
    "ipmitool -I lanplus -C 3 -H xx.xx.xx.xx -U test -P test sensor"

    server side:
    version of zabbix:
    zabbix_server (Zabbix) 3.0.0beta2
    i compile it with -–with-openipmi

    host side to monitor:
    RMCP+ Cipher Suites : 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14
    Cipher Suite Priv Max : XXXaaaXXaaaXaaa
    : X=Cipher Suite Unused
    : c=CALLBACK
    : u=USER
    : o=OPERATOR
    : a=ADMIN
    : O=OEM

    Zabbix front-end:
    /configuration/hosts/ipmi
    Authentication algorithm: I don't know what to choose ? with ipmitool i choose the 3rd cypher (-C 3) . Currently i set it to RMCP+
    Privilege level: I choose Admin, "test" user got admin privilege on host.

    I create item to monitor:
    Type : IPMI agent
    Host interface : xx.xx.xx.xx :623
    IPMI Sensor : P1_TEMP_SENS (which exist on host side)


    IPMI Flag is red , with tooltip : "Cannot connect to IPMI host: [33554449] unknow error 33554449"

    Any clue ?

    have you tried this:


    1st hit on google with: zabbix ipmi

    i had the same issue and it solved it for me.

      Thanks for the reply .

      I have already built openipmi with ssl but was 2.0.16.
      I did the same with 2.0.18 version, build zabbix source with --with-openipmi flag.

      i choose RMCP+ / Admin, and got the same probleme :
      IPMI Flag is red , with tooltip : "Cannot connect to IPMI host: [33554449] unknow error 33554449"

        can you try this:
        ipmitool -H <HOST>-U <USER> -P <PASSWORD> -L User -I lanplus sdr

        do you get a valid Output?

            mhh strange.
            if that command works, the ipmi on zabbix worked for me, too.

            could you delete and clear the host on and add it again?
            do you get any other Errors? or still

                Finally i found the issue, in fact i dind't watch carrefuly the output of configuration when i configure openipmi source (./configure --with-openssl)

                it produces a lot of checkings and that's why ipmi didn't work with zabbix.

                watch out of these line , they should be "yes"

                checking openssl/crypto.h presence... no
                ...
                for that, i installed package libssl-dev & all runs perfectly.
                (OpenIPMI-2.0.21 & Zabbix 3.0.0rc1 under debian 8.2, host ipmi cisco c)

                hope that will help others.
