Hi All,
Even though I have been seeing Zabbix for some time, I have not been a expert. Every basic stuff I know to do. I thought I will try to do some exploration and learn and master the Zabbix implementation.
I decided to try on creating my own templates for the devices. What I am doing is that I am looking at "ZBX-CISCO-INTERFACES" template, seeing the item field, I started of with the interfaces, copied the items, Started creating a Custom template, Intention is to make two generic items (a) forInput and (b) foroutout
made the changes of the items ie wherever "ifHCInOctets" is there I put "ifInOctets" for the input (with ifHCInOctets I was getting message not supported)
and for the foroutput
ifHCOutOctets to ifOutOctets
Still getting message as the system does not support.
I have attached the two screen shot for the item definitions, for reference
I am trying to understand why in my custom template it shows error and in ZBX-CISCO-Interface template It does not show error.
Guidance and advice requested.
Thanks
Joseph John
