    poller processes 100%, unsure why

    In the past week I've started getting alerts about poller processes being at 100%. If I restart the server it goes back to 1% and less as normal, but then starts alerting again. Server CPU/RAM and IO times are normal, it's a powerful machine which is lightly used (only zabbix and some weekly data transfers). I haven't recently updated or made any changes. This has been working fine for months and only exhibits trouble lately.

    Has anyone else experienced similar problems or maybe knows how to fix it? This is on a Debian 8 server.

    When you have many hosts and items, you need to change the default configuration file.

    Please try to increase the number of startup of the process of busy Poller.

    ex. "Zabbix poller processes more than 75% busy"
    in zabbix_server.conf
    Code:
    StartPollers=10
    ex. "Zabbix http poller processes more than 75% busy"
    in zabbix_server.conf
    Code:
    StartHTTPPollers=5
