Zabbix 2.0.15 can't send jabber messages after upgrade openfire to 4.0.1

Hi folks,

we have a zabbix 2.0 installation and an openfire jabber server. After upgrade openfire from 3.9.3 to 4.0.1 zabbix instance can't send jabber messages anymore.
Connection from zabbix server to openfire server works on ip/tcp level i test this with telnet:

# telnet jabber.domain.tld 5222
Trying AA.BB.CCC.DDD...
Connected to jabber.domain.tld.
Escape character is '^]'.

With mcabber i check if jabber is working. Here i can login and send messages to any contact.

But Zabbix will not send any alerts. How can i debug and solve the problem.

Hi,

please increase the log-level.. if that not work use wireshark to check if zabbix try something.

Debug provides me no more information. If i go to the single event i see sasl authentication failure, but nothing more.
I dumped one alert try via tcpdump but this looks good. I can't see inside the last packages because we use tls.

Now i use a workaround. I wrote a script which send messages with sendxmpp. This works fine and i will no longer search for a fault in zabbix.
