Zabbix Log Monitoring

Hi Zabbix Community,

I'm trying to monitor the syslog file using Zabbix agent but I'm encountering this "2022/09/29 06:09:06.001522 check 'log[/var/log/syslog]' is not supported: Cannot obtain information for file "/var/log/syslog": [2] No such file or directory"

I have added the zabbix user to adm group.

BTW I'm using dockerized zabbix-agent2 in my setup.

hi Kramnitsuj, do you resolved the problem? I encountered similar problem with you. I use dockerized zabbix server and a normal rpm installed zabbix-agentd in same host.
the configuration for the item:

• type: Zabbix agent(active)
• key: log.count[/tmp/testsys.log,error]

the error msg found in the zabbix_server.log:

 error reason for "appsrv1:log.count[/tmp/testsys.log,error]" changed: Cannot obtain information for file "/tmp/testsys.log": [2] No such file or director
