Zabbix internal checks dont work from zabbix_get

itsg116281-vm20:root:/usr/local/sbin>zabbix_get -s localhost -k zabbix[host,,maintenance]
ZBX_NOTSUPPORTED: Unsupported item key.

It appears that 'host' isn't properly resolved. Is this a bug, or a known issue?

zabbix_get it is tool interacting with running zabbix agent.
zabbix[] internal check is not part of the agent key space.
Current host maintenance state is stored in zabbix server db backend.
If you been thinking about using zabbix_get in some script you should start looking on zabbix API https://www.zabbix.com/documentation/2.4/manual/api
