VMware Guest and auto assigning OS template

We are looking to use the VMware template to autodiscover everything on VMware. The template autodiscovers the guests as well and assigns the VMWare Guest Template to them. What I am hoping is someone was able to also assign the correct OS template (linux or windows) to them as well.

The template uses UUID to add the VM's but I am not able to pull the OS from that. If someone knows how to get the OS from UUID, that would be great.

An succes with that? I was planning on doing the same thing but don´t know how. All the VMs in my Vcenter are discovered by zabbix but they only have the vmware guest template. Wish it could also autodetect for windows/linux and apply the coresponding template.
