    Grouping VMWare discovered items

    Hello Zabbixers!

I need to find a method to "group" the VMWare discovered items, because I'm monitoring multiple customers with some local-deployed proxies, and the VMWare discovery process creates a lot of confusion...
It's possibile that multiple customers had the same "Cluster Name" or have some VM with the same name, and so on...

So, I thought that I can achieve some more "order" prepending a sort of "ID" to every VMWare discovered item, but I failed to do it...

Another useful task is make all the VMWare discovered items to inherit the "Host Group" from the "father" object linked to the main template (let me say, the vCenter Server).

Anyone can suggest me how to ho that?

Thanx a lot in advance to everybody!

Hello Metalgalle, did you manage to find a solution for your task? I have a very similar challenge, but I haven't found a viable workaround yet.

      Hello Sam!
      Unfortunately not...
At the time I think that the only way to do it is to modify the VMWare Dicoverer code, but I'm not a developer, and so, I don't think that I'm able to do it.

Anyway, I recently upgraded my server to 7.0, and I not yet tried to check id the new version may have some new features...

If I'll find a solution, I'll post it!
