Zabbix Proxy 6.2.0 no longer updates after Zabbix Server upgraded from 6.2.4 to 6.2.5

Today we upgraded our Zabbix Server, running on Ubuntu 22.04, from 6.2.4 to 6.2.5 Since then no new hosts can be added to the older 6.2.0 proxies. The proxies run on pfSense firewalls, so are stuck with supported package versions of Agent & Proxy, which is currently 6.2.0.

The error we get from the proxy is this: failed to update local proxy configuration copy: unexpected field "hstgrp.name"

Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated. Backing off the server version would be difficult at this point.

    The upgrade documentation (https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...rade_notes_625) says:

Zabbix server 6.2.5 will not work with a Zabbix proxy below/above 6.2.5
Zabbix 6.2.6 is already out so it is worth trying.

    Two learned lessons here:
    1. Always read the upgrade documentation before upgrading
    2. Always make sure you have backups so that you can rollback the upgrade if needed.

Thanks for the follow up. You're totally correct, of course. But it's disappointing that breaking changes are introduced with minor version changes (6.2.4 to 6.2.5), even if they are called out in the documentation. We just went through this with 6.0 to 6.2, which is, at least, a major version change, when we had to hold off on any updates to Server until new versions of Proxy were available for our platform (pfSense). Alas, we'll just have to abandon the use of Proxies on pfSense and find other ways to manage things.

      Best regards,

I agree: I wouldn't run mixed environments (= Zabbix server provided by official Zabbix repository and Zabbix proxies provided by third-party packages).
