I am new to zabbix and we got one requirement to monitor our Org network . our all servers sit in Management Zone. and we are having other zones like Business1, Business2 and Business3 Zones. Now my query is "can a single Agent installed in one of the Zones server monitor all the other servers with in the same Zone." on the other hand can Agent installed in another Zone communicate with the other Zone and send all the data to Zabbix Console Server which is in the Management Zone ?

Zabbix agent can do limited amount of agentlesss monitoring like pings, port checks etc.. But for more complex things, you have to have agent on every host. Agent communication is only limited by your FW rules... It really does not matter how you call your zones. it there are FW rules in place, it will communicate.
You can also have a proxy in each zone, which gathers data from all the hosts in that zone and forwards to Server. This way you can limit the amount of FW holes you need to basically just one...-

Thank you so much for your reply .. here we are not having any firewall rules .. if any port need to be enable we used to raise a request to enable the port.. here I am trying to use zabbix mainly ti check the connectivity check between the servers with in the same zone and from the servers which are in the different zone. can you please help me with any kind of doc to configure for the same. appreciate for your help

Cyber thanks for your reply .. I am trying understand the proxy concept.. if i install the agent in one server and can i use that sever as proxy and connect to all the other servers which is having tcp connection and fetch the information like performance band width and connectivity check without installing agents in all the servers ? and also do i need to install zabbix proxy concept or where i need to configure the zabbix proxy in the agent installed server ?
