I have zabbix 1.8.16 running on a ESX VM host running Ubuntu Server 9.04.
The email subsystem at the OS level uses the exim4 mailer.
The server hosts 45-50 hosts all of which used the basic icmpping trigger. Some of the hosts have 3 other customer triggers.
When a host fails the icmpping the Zabbix Monitoring Dashboard correctly updates and shows the failed host at Disaster level. However, no email gets sent from the host to the distro list.
From the OS command line, I cannot get exim4 to send any test email from the host to any email account. I was bequeathed this system from former person who set it up (I normally work with RHEL and sendmail). I know at one time, that this release of MySQL database had some performance issues? Is this a OS level mailer problem or a overloaded database?
