Missing config option in left pane

"New Zabbix User Post - BEWARE"

After several "new builds" of the ubuntu server and zabbix, I thought I had finally got all the bugs worked out. Well I've ran into another issue with the configuration option not available in the left pane - see image. I have logged in both admin and the other super user account, same result.

And sorry if this has been posted elsewhere - Could not find referenced in previous posts.

    Thanks for the help.

Zabbix 6.4 has changed the configuration of the menu. Please try select Data collection.

        Hello,

Since a few days, I work with/try Zabbix. Items like "Discovery" and "Action" were placed under "Configuration". I read that I have to look under "Data collection". But where is the "Action" menu-item?

        Kind regards,
        Philip

You mean "Discovery Actions" under "Alerts" - "Actions"?

Zabbix Developers love to move around menu items. And you are permanently misguided reading documentions and hindered in learning auto-didactically how to use Zabbix. For Beginners this is very frustrating - and the frustrated one has to wonder, if this is the intended purpose ;-)
Discovery Action Rules under "Alerts", I myself had difficulties to guess that i will find those action rules behind "alerts"..

Configure Discovery Rules under "Data Collection"
              1. Navigate to "Data Collection" in the Zabbix dashboard.
              2. Go to the Discovery section within Data Collection.
              3. Click on Create discovery rule or select an existing one to edit.
              4. Fill in the necessary details such as:
                • Name: E.g., ICMP Discovery.
                • IP Range: Specify the range of IPs to scan.
                • Check Type: Select ICMP ping.
                • Device uniqueness criteria (usually IP address).
                • Update Interval: Define how often the scan occurs.
              2. Configure Action Rules for Discovery under "Alerts"
              1. Navigate to "Alerts" in the Zabbix dashboard.
              2. Access the Action sub-menu.
              3. Click on Create action or modify an existing action.
              4. Configure the action settings:
                • Name: E.g., Auto-register ICMP Hosts.
                • Conditions: Set conditions such as Discovery rule = ICMP Discovery.
                • Operations: Define what happens when the condition is met, like adding the host and linking templates.

Here, configuring operations might have moved to a different menu or section, which you’ll need to investigate further.
              3. Monitoring and Verification
              • Check Monitoring > Hosts after your discovery rule and actions have had time to run, to see if new hosts are being added as expected.
