    Ubuntu 15.10 net.if.in always returns 0

I have installed the Zabbix Agent (3.0.3) from source onto a Ubuntu 15.10 KVM server.

In this particular instance, no matter what interface I request information with... ie:

    net.if.in[eth0] or net.if.in[virbr0] or net.if.in[1] or net.if.in[zt0], it ALWAYS returns a value of 0.

I have a couple of other Ubuntu 15.10 servers where this is not a problem. Only on this server that is also running KVM. Could that be the issue?

    Thanks!

    It's Fixed!

So I figured out what is going on... My KVM server is hosted at KimSufi, and lo, and behold, I found somebody else who had some problems with other things... His solution works fine too...

I have a cheap dedicated server running Ubuntu Linux — the 8.04 LTS “Hardy Heron” release — with Kimsufi, the budget arm of French hosting company OVH. All their Linux serve…

Basically, you switch out the KimSufi/OVH installed Kernel with the Ubuntu stock kernel and everything starts working again.

    Go figure!
