SNMP v3 monitoring - VMWare templates

    Hi there

I'm new to Zabbix and just started testing by collecting data from a few devices. I want to use SNMPv3 as I believe it is the most secure option.

I am able to setup SMNPv3 for the HPE ILO, with the SNMP icon under the availability column turning green.

In the case of VMWare, I am able to collect data, however the SNMP status remained grayed out with status "unknown". Is this normal? It seems that data is being collected fine otherwise, which leads me to think that the issue is with the template as I cannot find an SNMP agent availability item.

I copied this trigger from another template to the VMWare template, and it show that it is enabled however it has not made any difference.

All templates used so far are the ones built into the appliance, 6.4.2.

    Any ideas? Thanks

but vmware (official) template (https://www.zabbix.com/integrations/vmware#vmware) does not use snmp... So that icon should remain as it is there..

      Hi,
If you're getting all the data, the colour of the interface shouldn't matter too much )

Thanks both for clearing that up for me.

Apologies but I'm a complete newbie to Zabbix and still wrapping my head around the way things work
