    Issue with MariaDB undo logs

We have Zabbix installed using a MariaDB database and have been having an issue where ibdata was growing from undo logs starting about a month ago with no changes we could see to cause it. Zabbix was migrated to a new server with MariaDB 10.11 installed and the issue has followed. MariaDB is currently set to use 3 files for undo logs and to truncate but the files continue to grow without restriction; even if zabbix is stopped to ensure there are no transactions the files do not appear to ever get truncated.

Multiple people have reported the same issue on these forums in the past few months. It has to be some behavior change in very recent versions of MariaDB. You may want to review the Release Notes and upgrade instructions for MariaDB 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, etc. I would think something would be mentioned in those documents about the change that would cause this growth. This isn't a Zabbix problem, it's something changed with MariaDB.

If you discover the cause of the unexpected growth, please follow up and let others know what the issue is.

We think we may have been hitting a couple of these bugs. We upgraded to 10.11.4 and files are being truncated properly now.

Thank you for following up and providing more information on the (likely) issue. That's definitely going to help other people.

Is someone using Debian 12 and had this issue with mariadb-server 10.11.?
I've tested the new released 1:10.11.4-1~deb12u1 but the ibdata file keeps growing. (dumped and imported to a clean new host)
