    Conditions problems in "Actions"

    Let's says I have an "Action" with the following conditions

    Host <> "kiev-gw-linksys"
    Host <> "kiev-inside-kiev-srv"
    Host <> "kiev-inside-addpac-ap200"
    Trigger severity >= "High"

    I mean in this "Action" that I don't want to get any info from triggers that are belongs to hosts (kiev-gw-linksys, kiev-inside-kiev-srv, kiev-inside-addpac-ap200), but I am still getting it all the time.

    Is it correct or I don't understand something?!

    What this symbol mean <>? Not equal, right?

    Please assist.

    I think you would be fine just setting the trigger to high and then have your media set to only high, will tinker around abit and see whta I can cook up.

      I want to setup the triggers with severity = "High" but I want also to filter from which hosts I would like to receive info about trigger status changing.

        Your condition basically means:

        (
        Host <> "kiev-gw-linksys"
        or
        Host <> "kiev-inside-kiev-srv"
        or
        Host <> "kiev-inside-addpac-ap200"
        )
        and Trigger severity >= "High"

        Create a host group having these hosts and define :

        Host group <> Your group
        Trigger severity >= High

        I do not see other way of defining condition you want.

            Same here with Zabbix 1.1 on Gentoo

            It looks as if the "<>" does not work correctly

            With

            Conditions:
            Host group <> "dev-Server"
            Trigger severity >= "High"
            I get messages regardless whether they are in host group "dev-Server" or not.

            (Worse: my boss get's them also)

                I do not see other way of defining condition you want.
                Theres 2 problems here:

                1. inconsistency - there is list of rules which seems like adds up together under AND condition, but they are not, i e some of the rules are OR, another rules are AND, its unclear. It would be much more easy to make all of them AND or create simple logical condition language like with triggers.

                2. I have group of hosts called NoPaging, i add servers to that group when i want monitoring to keep going but no pages generated. (Once in a while i list members of NoPaging group and clean it up whatever got more stable to keep paging noise down.) So i cannot create rule anymore to send page to hosts that part of UNIX group AND also NOT part of nopaging group, therefore all our unix admins get paged on windows hosts unfortunately.

                  AND for all conditions in action

                  I would like to have the AND as well for any conditions. At least this way I can more strictly define the conditions. Currently using the OR I'm actually widening the criteria and not narrowing it down.

                  How does this work in v1.3.2(beta)?

                      Is there any way that this can be changed for 1.4?

                        Honestly I do not see why this should be changed.

                          FYI In 1.3.x, choice of evaluation algorithm has been introduced. So, all types of conditions are supported:

                          1. (A AND B) AND (C AND D)
                          2. (A OR B) OR (C OR D)
                          3. (A OR B) AND (C OR D)

                          A, B and C, D - conditions of same type.
