snmptrap.fallback no value in latest data

    Hello,

I'm new to Zabbix and I'm trying to use traps.

I used several guides to set up traps. All posted here in several threads discussing issues with traps ins Zabbix.

I’ve got to the point that there is content in my tmp/my_zabbix_traps.tmp
I can send testtraps to it and I can read them in the file.

    Code:
    17:52:55 2016/08/05 IF-MIB::linkDown.0.33 Normal "General event" localhost - ZBXTRAP 127.0.0.1 general linkDown:teststring000
I've created a host with SNMP Interface 127.0.0.1

    I’ve set up a
Template "SNMP trap fallback" with an
    Item "SNMP trap fallback"
    Type "SNMP Trap"
    Key "snmptrap.fallback"
    Type of information "Log"

I’ve set up a second template
Template "SNMP traps" linked it to "SNMP trap fallback" and added an
    Item "General "
    Type "SNMP Trap"
    Key "snmptrap["general"]"
    Type of information "Log"

Unfortunately there are no value in "latest data", wether for "snmptrap.fallback" nor "snmptrap["general"]".

I searched for a solution but nobody seemed to have this exact problem. Either they can’t fill the tmp/my_zabbix_traps.tmp or they already have values in “latest data” but have problems filtering the content.

So I’m stuck here and need help.

    Kinds regards

I am totaly not familiar with centOS oder Linux so I am not sure how and who to give permission here.

      same problem

I also working on SNMP-Trap receiving in Zabbix (3.4.4) running on Ubuntu Server 16.04.
I have exactly the same problem. Zabbix receive all traps in /tmp/zabbix_traps.tmp but i get no value in the latest data (item with snmptrap.fallback key).
All Log-Files are clean, no permission problems.
I am realy helpless at this point.
Did you get it working in the meantime?

        Update

Ok, because i got SNMP-Trap-Receiving not completely working with Zabbix 3.4.4 on Ubuntu 16.04,
i build a new machine with CentOS7 and Zabbix 3.4.4 and followed the instructions from this manual:
        https://www.zabbix.org/wiki/Start_wi...raps_in_Zabbix.
Now SNMP-Trap-Receiving is working as expected.
