Trouble with php7 not interpreting

good day good people:
I have been able to finish installation process in zabbix3.0.4/Ubuntu Xenial amd64.
However I couldn't get to display web interface (the assistant), instead I get the index.php source code displayed.
I read somewhere there was an issue with always_populate_raw_post_data php.ini deprecated option in php7.0, if this is the case how can I fix it?

I was doomed to fail, as I didn't install (because it was a clean install) apache2 php7 module: libapache2-mod-php7.0
