Zabbix 3 proxy won't properly restart after reboot

I have older zabbix proxy (zabbix v3 - redhat 7 - sqlite 3) that I recently reinstalled the zabbix proxy software on. Everything seems to run fine as it connects to the zabbix server and all data is flowing. However on monthly reboots the proxy server seems to start but does not reconnect to the zabbix server. I am guessing it is not fully started even though systemctl says proxy service is running. I have to stop the zabbix proxy service, delete proxy DB file then restart the proxy and it is fine again. Just wondering where to look before I attempt to rebuild it all again.
