    Problem with first installation.

    Good Morning,

I doing step by step installation from https://www.zabbix.com/download?zabb...debian&os_vers ion=12&components=server_frontend_agent&db=mysql&w s=apache

Configurations: 6.4, Debian, 12, server, fronted agent, mysql, apache.

I stopped in patch 2.C. When i try login to mysql i have something like this:

    root@debianzabbix:~# mysql -uroot -p
    Enter password:
    ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local server through socket '/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

    How solve it?

    root@debianzabbix:~# mysql --version
mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.11.4-MariaDB, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper

It looks that you have problem with MariaDB.

Couple of things you may want to check
    1. Ensure you installed server package.
    2. Ensure service is running OK
    3. Have you executed mysql_secure_installation ?
    https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...b-on-debian-11 - may be a good article.

      Hi,

I was able to get the same output like you when my database service was not up and running.
Run this to resolve the issue:
      Code:
      systemctl start mariadb
      In addition consider running:

      Code:
      systemctl enable mariadb
So it automatically starts on boot so you do not have to worry about it in the future.

      Regards,
      Arkadiusz
