I have been using the simple check icmppingsec for a long time to monitor link delay an d everything was OK, but recently I have started monitoring MPLS links. The problem is that while the delay of the first packet is usually over 200ms the following packets are usually under 50ms, as you can see the measurement is not very real.
I am monitoring agentless devices so I can´t use solutions based on it. I've been thinking of implementing a new "checker" which stores the third or fourth value, but I'm not sure is possible. Has anyone found this problem before? Any ideas or suggestions?
