How to Upgrade from 3.04 to 3.2

    Hi,

This is my first post and my first exposure to Linux and Zabbix was only a couple of weeks ago so please excuse what might be very basic questions.

I'm currently using the Zabbix appliance version 3.2 and have it monitoring around 40 PCs without issue. The appliance keeps running out of disk space and so I made the decision to build a machine from scratch.

I've installed Ubuntu 16.10 server and have successfully installed Zabbix which install as version 3.04.

I have exported the database from the appliance, but now need to upgrade Zabbix from 3.04 to 3.2 before I can import the database.

As I'm not familiar with a command line interface, does anyone know where I can find an idiots step by step guide to upgrade Zabbix to the latest version.

    Thanks in advance.

    Robert.

I suggest using the repository provided by Zabbix for the installation, as it will be the current version (3.2.1) instead of the slightly older version that Ubuntu has on their repo. You might want to start over with a fresh OS install, as the Ubuntu version also puts the config files in different places than the Zabbix provided version, and it might be confusing to have the old configs and the current configs on the same server.
