Host thinks its the Zabbix server.

    Hi,

I have a really odd issue with one of my hosts, where it thinks it is the Zabbix server.
This seems to happen every minute or so as shown in the attachment.
When the host thinks it is the Zabbix server it will start pulling Linux data.

This host only has a single interface configured (Zabbix Agent). An NSlookup on the Zabbix server itself does resolve the correct server.

Is there anywhere else I can look to try and figure this out or has anyone seen this before?

    Kind regards,

Look through config file on the agent and check that hostname has been set correctly and that the config file is actually being read correctly. You should see the hostname showing up in the log files on startup.

The Windows: Host name of Zabbix agent running never changes.

We are running active checks if that makes any difference? I can see no difference between the conf file on this server and any other.
Everything is defined by IP. Server is correct, ListenPort is correct and ServerActive is IP:Port.

If the Hostname value isn't set on the zabbix agent or the config value isn't in the right place then you'll see the hostname showing as Zabbix Server (the default) in the log file. The zabbix server uses the Hostname or HostnameItem parameters to delineate between hosts.https://www.zabbix.com/documentation.../zabbix_agentd
