    7.0.0rc3 breaks treatment of blank {host.ip} and {host.dns}

    I posted an issue here: https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-24636

    but since those often take quite a while to get reviewed thought I would check in here and see if anyone can correct my understanding. And as a head's up if it is broken.

    I have a number of triggers like this:

    Code:
    DNSMatchIP[{HOST.DNS},{HOST.IP},{$OPTIONAL_DOMAINS}]
    This one compares resolution between the DNS name and IP address. If I do not specify one or the other in the host interface definition, it sees a blank and just skips the check.

    With RC3 (but not the prior betas from 2-3 months ago (I was moving and not updating regularly) these now come through as the literal trigger name instead of blank. Note that I'm on ubuntu 22.04.04 and running distro channel updates, and 7.0.0rc3 is the latest as of this morning, at least that's how it is labeled at the bottom of the UI.

    This is going to break triggers that depend on blank being passed out as, well, blank. Like external checks. Maybe notifications, have not tested that.

    I didn't see any intent this change, has any been mentioned somewhere?

    Or is this a bug?

    This was fixed in a couple of bugs, but the most recent one is ZBX-24636 released in 7.0.4rc1 and 7.2.0alpha1
