Zabbix 7.0 Agent2 'no active checks on server' when using proxy group

I am running Zabbix Server 7.0, upgraded from 6.4. I am running two 7.0 proxys in a proxy group. I have a number of active Zabbix Agent2 agents sending data to Zabbix, being a mix of Windows and Linux agents.

Agents generally work, then will randomly stop sending data to Zabbix. When I check the history, they have been moved to another proxy in the group. The agents are not receiving their list of active checks from the assigned proxy server from the group.

I check the doco and I think I have setup correctly, with ServerActive list separated by semicolon and all proxy members of the group listed. But the agents don't receive checks never seem to think to check the other proxy server in the list either! If I restart the zabbix-agent2 service the agent is not redirected to the assigned proxy, as I believe it should work?

The setup of my proxy group, host and agent configs as follows:

    1. Zabbix proxy group
    Members: proxy1.fqdn.com, proxy2.fqdn.com
    Failover period: 10s
    Minimum proxies: 1

    2. Host config
Host monitored by proxy group: GROUP1
    Assigned proxy: proxy2.fqdn.com

    3. Agent config
    zabbix_agent2.conf
    ServerActive=proxy1.fqdn.com;proxy2.fqdn.com

On the zabbix_agent2.log file I see this line repeated infinitely:
2024/07/29 08:54:32.086287 [101] no active checks on server [ar9-drw-zpr01.area9.com.au:10051]: host [7986c5ab-456a-49c9-adae-08a89fc2f5e1] not found

    Sounds like https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-24658.

7.0.2 (just came out) should have fix for this.

      Hi Markku,

I have read that ticket and, yes, it sounds exactly like the problem I am experiencing. I am glad to know that my configuration is not to blame! I will update to the 7.0.2 release.

      Thank you,
      Bill.
