System scalability

Hi all,

We are evalutating monitoring tools and just installed Zabbix. We are wondering how scalable is Zabbix, for example, if we have a group with 10 hosts running, graphs, screens, triggers and actions are set up. If we add a new host how much work will it take to set up a new machine (same graphs, actions, triggers)

If you create a template and base your original 10 hosts on that template, you can create your new host, base it on the same template and voila all yoru items and triggers are all setup.

Also if you don't set your action to be too particular, say if you base it off of a host group or just part of a trigger name, then you won't have to make any additions for the actions.

If you setup a custom graph you may have to add each item from the new host that you want to graph to the graph, but the graphs that are available when you go to latest data for the new host will automatically be available.
