Hello,
I've been using the Zabbix built-in options of VMware monitoring.
So under "Template Virt VMware" I've put both of my vcenter servers, it then auto-discovered my clusters and ESXi servers and assigned them the template "Template Virt VMware Hypervisor".
Now, this template seems to have the "ICMP Ping" template linked to it, which is good, but upon checking I see it's only actually pinging the vCenter servers and not the actual ESXi servers! When I look at the actual hosts that were discovered, I see that their "visible name" is their actual IP, but their agent interface is the vCenter IP address.
I can add these hosts again manually and assign them the "ICMP Ping" template, because I luckily do not have a lot of them, but this seems like a pretty big oversight...
Any explanations/advice?
