    Utilization of snmp trapper processes over 75%

    Hello,

    I have configured the snmp trapper as per official zabbix doc using a bash script and it works, i.e. traps arrive and are properly decoded by the proxy.
    However, I frequently see the "Utilization of snmp trapper processes over 75%" message, although snmp traffic is very weak (only a few traps per day).

    What could cause this issue and how to solve it?

    Zabbix version is 7.0.3.

    Really no one?
    I also tried the perl script method but the result is the same, this problem appears randomly and even more so when traps are received. The worst is that while the snmp trapper process is at 100%, no traps can be decoded.

      Hiho,

      Search in your config file how much pollers are starting with your zbx server or zbx proxy.

      StartTrappers=number
      StartSNMPTrapper=number

      Try to increase this numbers, restart zabbix-server and/or zabbix-proxy process and see if your problem of utilization is over.

      And remember, Metal is the law, "Trap" is just an comercial Rap ;P

    1 snmp trapper... maybe 100 traps per day .. Cannot really say what is Your problem there.. Maybe your snmptrapd or snmptt or whatever you have there, has some logs?
    Code:
    /usr/sbin/zabbix_proxy: snmp trapper [processed data in 0.000027 sec, idle 1 sec]

      Snmp traffic is almost 0, maybe 1 trap every few hours. Also no message in the log file indicating any issues, which is strange.

      mrnobody I have set StartTrappers=5 and StartSNMPTrapper only has a range of 0-1 (which is set to 1 in my case). I will try to increase StartTrappers to see if it makes a difference. Thanks.

      EDIT: No change with StartTrappers set to 10. The root cause must be something else.
