Using Subgroups in Actions for Triggers

Hello, I have a large number of hosts spread across many groups, such as:

    UNIT/GROUP/A
    UNIT/GROUP/B
    and so on.

I am facing an issue with this setup. In Actions on Zabbix 6.4, I noticed that adding a condition for:

    UNIT/GROUP

    does not include:

    UNIT/GROUP/A and UNIT/GROUP/B.
I have to add them individually. The problem is that I have a very large number of these groups, and keeping track of adding them manually each time causes issues. Is there a way to add all subgroups at once, or can we force the action to include the subgroups as well?

    Hello Kirlen,
did you find any solution? I think I am facing the same issue with Zabbix 7.0. Trigger action condition allows only conditions Host group equals or does not equal. We thought that it would include subgroups until we missed some alerts of hosts belonging to the subgroup.

Does someone know a way to create a trigger that would match subgroups as well? It would be very useful.

I do not think this is possible. Trigger actions are very specific. Whilst they are subgroups they are still host groups. I think the best course of action would be to raise a change request on the Jira asking for this functionality to be added in a future version.

I just upgraded my test environment to 7.2.4 and its not working.

          I made 2x host groups
          "Customer/CompanyA" and "Customer/CompanyA/Site1"
I placed "CompanyA Router" in "Customer/CompanyA" and placed "CompanyA Site1 Router" in "Customer/CompanyA/Site1"

          Trigger Action
Trigger severity is greater than or equals Warning
          Host group equals Customer/CompanyA

          Results
Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	18.9 KB ID:	499813As you can see the host in "Customer/CompanyA" alerted and performed the trigger action which was to send an email (Denoted by the 1 and the arrow under "Actions") as that's specified in my trigger action.

But the sub group "Customer/CompanyA/Site1" did not alert as its not specified in my trigger action despite being a sub group of "Customer/CompanyA" which IS specified in my trigger action.

If you managed to get it working I'd love to see the trigger action as that would be very useful.
