Use ZABBIX AGENT 2 MSSQL Pluging V 6.4.20 with SSPI Integrated Security

    Hi ,
Thank you all for your up coming help on the subject, and please my post format as this is my first time to post here.
In my work I have to setup supervision on Windows SQL Server machines using Zabbix. I've installed the ZABBIX AGENT 2 (V 6.4.20) and the MSSQL plugging (same version).
We configured the supervision from the web portal using the MACROS and it is working perfectly using SQL Server Authentification. i need now to switch it from SQL Server Authentification to WINDOWS Authentification.
However, I do not manage to make it through.
I basically, tried everything I found on the net (and advised by CHATGPT ) but still nothing worked for me.
Do you guys have any lead on this ?
    Many Thanks.

      Hi hammyhabib,

Thank you for sharing the details of your setup. It sounds like you’ve made great progress with monitoring using SQL Server Authentication. Switching to Windows Authentication can involve a few additional configuration steps.

To better understand your situation and assist further, could you clarify the following:

      1. Is the Zabbix Agent 2 service running under a Windows account with the necessary permissions to access the SQL Server?

Windows Authentication requires the agent to run under a user account that has appropriate permissions on the SQL Server.

      2. Have you reviewed the MSSQL plugin configuration files (zabbix_agent2.conf and zabbix_agent2.d/mssql.conf)?

While plugin-specific settings are documented here, ensure there are no conflicts or issues that might interfere with using Windows Authentication.

      3. Are there any errors or warnings in the Zabbix Agent 2 or SQL Server logs?

These logs can often provide insight into authentication failures or configuration mismatches.

Additionally, you may want to review the general Zabbix Agent 2 plugin setup documentation here for any overlooked details.

      Best regards,
      Piotr
