Zabbix Stops Recognizing a Cisco Switch

    Hello,

In advance thanks for your support, I have zabbix installed on a virtual machine with the following features:

    Ubuntu 16.04
    DB MYSQL
    PHP 7
    Zabbix 3.

The problem is when zabbix recognizes the interfaces of a Cisco SG500 switch, zabbix stops working and sends me a message that says:

Zabbix server is not running: the information displayed may not be current

The strange thing is that it performs the same installation for a 2960 switch and works ok.

    I followed the following tutorial

As I see the first release as officialy supported on 16.04 is 3.0.3.

    First try this version.

    Other useful info for debugging:

Increase DebugLevel in /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf (to 4 or 5).
Restart zabbix server and show contain of /var/log/zabbix/zabbix_server.log.

        Last to lines say:
        1294:20170309:150826.898 [file:strpool.c,line:53] zbx_mem_malloc(): out of memory (requested 97 bytes)
1294:20170309:150826.898 [file:strpool.c,line:53] zbx_mem_malloc(): please increase CacheSize configuration parameter

Do you try to increase CacheSize parameter in zabbix_server.conf? (Do not forget to restart zabbix_server service.)

          Thanks

          Thanks hpeti2,

Increase CacheSize as you indicated now works fine.
