No templates are linked to discovered VMware VMs.

    Hello folks,
I am running Zabbix 6.0.30 on a Debian 11 VM.
I can properly monitor differnet devices as Cisco switch or Windows/Linux server using Zabbix Agent.
My company decided to monitor via API our VMware infrastructure, so I decided to monitor our datacenter via vCenter.

I followed this KB https://blog.zabbix.com/monitoring-vmware-vsphere-with-zabbix/29193/#Step_one_Create_a_Zabbix_service_user_in_the_vCen ter
So far my Zabbix deployment is able to discovery physical hypervisors and virtual machine using VMware template and I can only collect physical server data.
Unfortunately no discovered VM triggers are available because no VMware template is linked to discovered VMware VMs.
VMware template automatically linked VMware Hypervisor template to physical servers.

How can I solve this issue?
How can I automatically link VMware template to discovered VM?

    vCenter release is 8

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello,
after some investigations I releasied Zabbix deployment has been upgraded from Zabbix 4.X to Zabbix 6.X.
I backup all VMware templates, deleted all VMware templates and I imported VMware templates available in official Zabbix 6.0 repo.
VMware VM discovery is working properly now!

    URL Repo: https://git.zabbix.com/projects/ZBX/...=release%2F6.0

    Thanks for your help!

Verify those host prototypes, is there template mentioned. If it is OOB template, it should, but if some one has poked their greasy fingers into it, things can happen...
