I have 2 proxy servers in a proxy group. The set up was working correctly. After a network blip, the proxy group alerted with a Status "offline". Since then I have not been able to get the group working again. Both of the proxy hosts work if they are the only host in the group, when both are in the group, one works and the other doesn't. They broken proxy logs "cannot send list of active checks to <IP>: host not found". I have tried stopping and starting the proxies. I have rebooted. I have stopped them both at the same time and started them both. I have tried changing the agent hostname to FQDN. Nothing has worked yet. This has happened once before, and after some amount of time and restarts, it starting working again. It is currently not working. How do I get it back up and working?

Do you have H.A between servers? I would test it there too, if it's only your network, probably same would happen; just to have an base of comparition (knowing H.A between servers (old and mature feature) is different of H.A between proxys (new, baby born feature)). Think both H.A features depend of DNS resolution (if use hostnames in config files), specific firewall rules (may be the cause
) or just an problematic network (that i hope yours isen't another one).

Hello, Thank you for your replies. I appreciate it. It is finally working again. It is hard to say what exactly fixed it, but I think it was a combination of the following:
1) I changed the trapper port to a custom port number and made sure all the configuration had the new port
2) I deleted the hosts that were in the proxy (because as you will see below I changed the hostname)
3) I created a new proxy group and moved the proxies to the new group
4) I changed the hostname of the hosts on the proxy from hostname to FQDN
So in summary, I deleted the hosts, created a new proxy group, added the hosts back in with FQDN and it is working now on a custom port.Comment
