    Events Table

    Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help? We have an events table that has grown to a rather large size of 140gb on a new installation - from around Feb this year.

Once we realised this table was growing, we have adjusted all the housekeeper settings, attempted to remove any orphaned data and even tried creating a new table by only copying that last months worth of data.

None of these things have worked, the house keeper simply doesnt delete anything that old and the table still has records in it from February. When trying to copy the data into a new table, this worked however when i mounted the new table it just kept failing saying it was looking for the old table. When running a cleanup script for the orphaned data it just crashed the sql service eventually.

Does anyone have any suggestions on cleaning up this table? Can i simply drop it and create a new one without any impact or would this cause issues with some of the other tables?

At the moment, with the way this table is growing i thinking of just deleting the entire database and starting again.

    Thank you

    Graham
